Video Diary
From June to December 2020 I kept a video diary.
My arbitrary rules: one shot per day, no more than two minutes per week, no context other than date. As time went on I ditched the first rule and tried some experiments: slow motion, split screens, step-printing and so on.
The idea was not just to have a video scrapbook but to sharpen my filmmaking skills. I'd have to be ready to shoot something each day, and find a subject and composition that interested me even when my day did not seem particularly interesting. And I'd have to resist repeating myself unless repeating myself was the point.
Mostly shot with a 24mm lens on my Sony a7iii, cropped to a 2.40:1 ratio because I love that shape of frame.
